I stay in Ahmedabad and in normal seasons, the Amaltas tree (Cassia Fistula) in my garden blooms in the March-April of every year but last December the sudden warmth in the air confused it. One fine day in December I noticed small buds of flowers appearing on the bark of the tree and the tips of the branches started greening up! Till I saw this, it was all talk and reports of seminars on climate change but here it was. staring me in my face!! The climate change.
With the nip back in about three weeks the tree again went back into hibernation. The buds and the tender leaves dried up again but the message grows on me! The climate change is right here.
In my backyard!
